GOV ALIA'S SECOND TERM A DONE DEAL- School Management, PTA 
* AS GSS GBOKO GRADUATES 54TH SET

The management, staff, PTA and students of Government Secondary School, Gboko, Benue State have said the re-election of the Executive Governor of Benue State, Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia for his second term is a done deal following his footprints of development in the state.

They made their affirmation today, 25th April, 2026 during the 54th graduation, speech and prize giving ceremony at the school premises.

Speaking on behalf of the school management,  principal of the school, Amb. Andrew Terfa Sase who appreciated Governor Alia for overhauling the state said, "Sir, We assure you of our unflinching support in your second term come 2027 is AUTOMATIC and not negotiable.

Amb. Sase thanked the Almighty God, staff and parents for the successful send-forth graduation also appreciated the Governor for his numerous contributions for the development of the state especially in the areas of education, security and infrastructure.

" My appreciation goes to our highly esteemed Governor, Very Revd Fr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia PhD for overhauling Benue State which was at a dilapidating condition. You are a caring Governor identified with prompt payment of salaries especially teachers, prompt payment of pensions and gratuity to retirees under your watch, massive recruitment of teachers for SUBEB through ministry of education and knowledge management. You are the " Talk and Do" Governor. He added.

The principal expressed hope that, the Alia's government through Executive secretary teaching Service Board will soon solve the problem of shortage of teachers by recruiting more teachers and other development to the doorsteps of Benue people.

Commenting the unflinching support from the staff, PTA and students, Sase said the support led his administration to achieve a lots within one year. He further explained that, within one year of his reign, he was able to construct over 200 dual desks, renovated basketball court, overhauling of broken boreholes, employment of over 30 additional PTA teachers and staff with upward review of their salaries to boost morale and enhance high productivity among many other achievements.

His administration celebrated glorious in the sport where the female team of the school became Benue State and Savannah conference Chompions, handball team emerged best at this year's Makurdi concept competition among many other areas where the school harvest umpteenth trophies.

Congratulating the graduants, Amb Sase saluted them for their resilience, patience, hardwork as well as advised them to remain good ambassadors of the school as they step into the wider world even as he prayed God to take them to the promised land.

On his part, the PTA chairman of the school, Comr. Augustine Verlumun Bar who also expressed confidence for the automatic return of Governor Alia for his second term said, they will speak more lauder at the polls come 2027, according to him, the Governor has already secured the two polling units at the school premises.

The PTA chairman appealed to the Honourable that, all the staff employed by the PTA to augment the shortage of government employed. He regretted that some PTA teachers have worked for over fifteen years.
On their parts the chairman of the occasion, Rev. Dr. Moses Yandev Avanger, the area education officer, Dr. Pauline Sewuese Igyodo, Chair lady, Mrs. Iveren Ivy Antyo, Mr Sefa Akuha Gong, Mrs Queen Azenda among other dignitaries  all encouraged the graduating students to always remember where they are coming from by avoiding any act that will tannish their reputations and that of the school.

In the development, the former caretaker chairman of Ushongo Local Government and former MD Urban development in Benue State, Apostle Saint Gbilekaa announced his annual scholarship for twenty less privilege students of the school.

Meanwhile Mr Ierve Abraham Luper went home with many prizes as the overall best student.
