COMMISSIONER JIR INTERFACES WITH IGBO COMMUNITY IN GBOKO

In congratulations of his familiarization visits with stakeholders and groups in Gboko, the Honourable Commissioner for transportation, power and renewable energy, Hon. Joseph Jir yesterday, 2rd November, 2025 interacted with Igbo community in Gboko.

Interfacing with the leaders of Igbo community in Gboko in their headquarter's Gboko branch, Ezenifit hall, the Commissioner said the visit was to familiarize himself with them as the Governor's point man in Gboko the know their problems.

The Gboko point man who described ibos as the controllers of Benue economy and Nigeria at large, assured them of security, protection and inclusiveness in the ALIA'S government and policies.

Hon. Joe Jir also announced to the Igbo community leaders that, the unnecessary taxes and harassment against Ibo traders and and good people of Gboko become a thing of a pass hence the ban on it be the president leadership.

Speaking further, the commissioner revealed to them of the Governor's planned point man appointment from the Igbo community, he instructed them to forward a name of their preferred representative for the appointment.

The Honourable Commissioner urged them to encourage their members to go out for the ongoing voters revalidation exercise.

Speaking on behalf of the Igbo community, the president general Igbo community Gboko, Chief Chris Onye who expressed happiness over the commissioner's visit, he assured him of total support to Governor Alia, describing the governor as a God sent to Benue looking at the achievements of the Governor in his two years in the office.
