DRAMA AND DRUMS OF WARS AS AGADA, OMAKOLO'S FACTIONS CLASH AT THE SPEAKER THANKSGIVING

There was drama in Gboko yesterday, 9th June, 2024

that led to the vibration and drums of wars  after the Hon. Austin Agada and Amakolo factions clashed over leadership of APC at NKST Church, Gboko Central, Gboko Local Government area of Benue State, during a thanksgiving in honour of the speaker of Benue State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Hyacinth Aondona Dajoh.

Hon. Dajoh was hosted to a thanksgiving by a Pressure group called Jemgbagh Youth Forum.

The supporters and followers of the two APC factions engaged in verbal exchange right inside the Church which also consumed leaders and elders of the Church.

It took the residence Pastor of the Church, Rev. J.T Ugeseh, Elders and leaders of the church and organizers of the event energy and time to intervene to calm the situation that shocked residents of Gboko area.

Trouble started when the macho man of the Agada faction in Gboko, the former Chairman Gboko Local Government Council and personal assistant to SGF, Hon. Simon Abua Yajir stepped out to grab a microphone from the MC to address speaker and invited guests but was denied of the opportunity, the microphone was given to the Chief Launcher of the event to calm his emotions.

Hon. Yajir was left stranded at stage for some minutes, few minutes after, the Priest in charge of the Church, Rev. Pst Ugese beaconed at him (Hon. Yajir) and fetched him to elders room where they stayed for about five minutes.

Our Correspondent reported that, immediately when Abua stepped out to speak, representative of the speaker, Chief Mrs. Cynthia Kundumiyol Dajoh hurriedly left the Church with her entourage, supporters and followers of her husband leaving almost empty front seats.

When Hon. Yajir resume from his meeting with Pastor, he met absence of Speaker's representative but succeeded in sending his hard facts messages through the Omakolo's factional APC Chairman in Gboko, Hon. Terfa Iorgilim, pastors, traditional rulers, Elders, leaders of the Church, some invited guests and some organizers that who were still there in the Church.

The visibly anger Macho man of the Agada faction in Gboko first of all slammed Pastors, Elders and leaders of the Church for promoting the Omakolo's factional APC Exco in the Church, addressing the faction as fake Exco, referring to the obtained court order barring the Omakolo's from interfering with the running of APC party affairs in the State. 

According to our Correspondent, as Yajir was dropping jawbombs against the Church and organizers for promoting Hon. Omakolo's factional APC Exco, what he defined as fake APC Exco in the Church, there were silence in the Omakolo's camp, while the Abua/Agada's supporters in their numbers both inside and outside the Church were gingering him (Yajir) to fire on more jawbombs.

Hon. Yajir who expressed disappointment in the Church Leaders and the organizers, cautioned them to avoid actions that can cause crisis in the area, lamented further that, their actions of promoting fake Exco escaped escalation of dangerous crisis only because of the respect people have for the Church, but they should be warned, because they may not be lucky next time.

The Yajir's hard facts triggered the anger of the Residence Pastor who angrily grabbed the microphone from him (Yajir). The Pastor sounded a strong warning that, any nasty political speech from Yajir and any other Guest such person will be embarrassed and humiliated, "we as a Church we are not party to political tussle nor part of any political party and we don't do politics in the Church and we will not be party to politics so let everyone respect his or herself when you are given microphone to speak here to avoid embarrassment". He warned.

When the microphone handed back to him, Yajir announced the the donation of 5. 3 millions naira on behalf of his Boss, SGF, Senator George Akume for the Church projects and transportation money for traditional rulers, MIM and Mnzough u Kase who were present. He added that he was happy to tell the Church and organizers the truth.

There was a serious drama when Hon. Yajir stepped out of the Church, as the Agada's supporters who were waiting outside in numbers, hurriedly drew close and surrounded him for protection, because the supporters of Omakolo's camp were vibrating and earning towards his ( Yajir's) direction.

According to World Link Correspondent, Hon. Yajir was lucky to escape been lynched just because almost all the strong youths from Omakolo's camp were left the Church by then to escort Speaker's wife to the venue of reception leaving Hon. Yajir and other invited guests behind.

" Abua become man of the thanksgiving because, the representative of the Speaker left the Church with her entourage, supporters leaving Abua and other Guests behind". Our Correspondent reported.

When contacted for his reaction, the APC Chairman, Gboko local Government, Hor. Terfa Iorgilim of Omakolo's faction told our Correspondent that, Hon. Yajir's action was so funny, according to him, he remain the original APC Chairman in Gboko and nothing can do about it, only Governor Hyacinth Iormem Alia can sack him. Even as he advised Abua to accept the fact that Amakolo is the original chairman of the party in Benue State.

According to the report, when strong youths from Omakolo's camp got the news that Agada's Macho man was intimidating their Exco members and the Church, they hurriedly reconvened and stormed the venue of the thanksgiving, but by then, Yajir and his supporters left for another function.

World Link further gathered that, the reception did not take place again hence guests and supporters did not turn up to the venue for the fear of unknown. 

When our Correspondent visited the reception venue at the constituency office of the the speaker at the former Coca-cola depot, only few ushers, empty seats and canopies were met as most of the guests and supporters jam-packed at the office of President of Jemgbagh Youths forum where Speakers wife was interfacing with traditional rulers leaving the main reception venue empty.
