GBOKO POLY MATRICULATES OVER 500 STUDENTS
The Gboko Polytechnic, Benue State has matriculated students into the National Diploma, ND, and Higher National Diploma, HND, programmes of the institution for the 2024/2025 academic session.
Engr. Hyacinth Hangeior Abanyam, the Rector of Gboko Polytechnic, who made this known today, Friday 5th April, 2024 at the 11th Matriculation Ceremony held at the Matriculation Ground of the Polytechnic, described Gboko Poly as an academic environment conducive and best for learning.
Speaking further, the Rector said, the polytechnic has zero tolerance for social vices such as cultism, gunrunning, examination malpractice, drug abuse, alcoholic addiction, unhealthy social gatherings, cybercrimes, incitement to violence, gangsterism, misuse and destruction of public property, stealing and indecent dressing, among others. He warned students to stay away from these vices to avoid legal consequences.
On his part, the host council Boss, Chairman Gboko local Government council, Hon. Verlumun Avar appreciated the role of private sectors like Gboko polytechnic in the economy of the country, even as he called on Government at all sectors to encourage private sectors for alleviating unemployment burden on government.
Other guests who spoke at event were chairman of the occasion, Dr. James Okpeh, guest speaker, Prof.cephas Gbande, AVM Audu Bida rtd all commended the proprietor and the school management for putting their best in the polytechnic, as well as encouraged lecturers and the management to ensure implementable knowledge and theories achieved in the institution.
In his vote of thanks, to Proprietor of the polytechnic, Dr. B.H Achiatar who appreciates parents and guardians and students for choosing the institution, also commend the state government for providing security in the state and her role in the smooth academic learning in the state. He also appreciated the management and staff of the institution for their cooperations even as he said their welfare is paramount to him.
Other Dignitaries the witnessed the Matriculation ceremony were, Registrar, Harry Pass polytechnic, Gboko, Chief Chris Adegbe, Representative of university of Mkar Mkar, Mr. Collins, Tor Tiv, HRM Prof, James Ortese Ayatse who was represented by Tor Jemgbagh, HRH. Afatyo Ajoko, Ter Gboko, HRH, Gabriel Shosun through Mue Ter Gboko, Chief Ikpa Ahua, as well as Tyoor Mbakpegh, Chief Ashim, former chairman Ushongo Local Government council, Hon. Jebe, among many others.
Meanwhile awards of honour were given to distinguished personalities by the management for their contributions to the polytechnic.
