AGADA OPENS ON MINISTERIAL NOMINEE...

EXCERPTS FROM COMRADE AUSTIN AGADA'S  INTERVIEW ON THE OUTCRY BY THE COALITION OF IDOMA PROFESSIONALS ABOUT THE MINISTERIAL NOMINEE FROM BENUE STATE

1. The issue of SGF has to do with the entire country and the disposition of the President to appoint who he sole desire to serve as a Secretary under his government. 

2. The issue of Minister has to do with the entire state and has no nomenclature as to a particular ethnic group or whatsoever, he is a Minister of Benue and not the Tiv Nation or Idoma Nation. 

3. We should stop playing this politics of sentiment that has brought us to where we are today. 

4. I recalled vividly sometime ago during David Mark time as 8 years Senate President, we had Jerry Agada and Abba Morrow as Ministers along side Davide Mark who was the number three citizen of the Country all from the same South Senatorial district where I come from but heaven didn't fall. It was the same Senator Dr. George Akume who is the SGF today went about ensuring and speaking on National televisions as to the nomination of these people as Ministers and did everything possible to ensure that they had a smooth ride. 

5. Chief Audu Ugbe was also Minister in the Buhari first tenure and the same Akume also stood up and supported him considering after Abba Morro have been Minister, it was expected that the 2015 Ministerial nominee should come from the Tiv extraction but it never went that way, it still went to Idoma people and there was an out cry from the Tiv Nation but still Distinguished Senator Dr. George Akume was everywhere on the National television speaking in favour of Chief Audu Ugbeh. 

6. The President today is a personal friend of Chief Audu Ugbeh. Of course Audu Ugbeh is the deputy leader of APC in Benue State while Akume is the leader, and I expect him to seek an appointment with the President to see how they can harmonize and bring something for the Benue South Senatorial district and not what they were doing in the name of press conference.

7. It's so laughable that Majority of them that did the Press conference came out and worked against the President, so how do you expect the same person to give you appointment?

8. I know what the SGF did for pushing one of our Son for this very position as a Minister, and I know as the party Chairman because I have the informations to myself what transpired. I also know the President promise to the Benue South Senatorial district and many other things that will come. So if an opportunity is given to one of our own who has worked very had for this party, it is worthy to be celebrated. 

9. I am confident that the Benue South Senatorial district will surely get an appointment that will help the Senatorial district, Benue and Nigeria at large. I have been discussing with the SGF and I know what he is doing in that direction.

10. The party is together and in total support of the SGF, there's no differences in the party.

CHIEF OYEGUN OFFICIALLY JOINS ADC 16th July, 2025 A former national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), John Odigie-Oyegun, has officially joined the African Democratic Congress (ADC). Oyegun, a former Edo State Governor, received the membership card of his new party on Tuesday.
