APC CHAIRMAN, OMALE RECEIVES OVER 50O OPPOSITION MEMBERS IN GBOKO

The APC State Chairman, Benue State, Dr. Benjamin Omale today Sunday, 2rd November, 2025 received over 500 hundred members of the opposition political parties in Mbatan council ward of Mbayion, Gboko local Government area of State, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and other political parties into the main opposition party, All Progressives Congress (APC).

The defectors were formally received at LGEA primary school, Ivese, Mbatan, Mbayion by the state chairman during a thanksgiving service and reception in honour of Special Assistant to the Governor of Benue State on community relations and engagement, Hon. Andura Samuel Terna with assurance that APC party is with enough room to accommodate all.

Represented by the Honourable Commissioner for transportation, power and renewable energy, Hon. Joseph Joe Jir commended the decampees for their wisdom to dump the darkness for the light, appealed to the people of Mbatan, Mbayion and Gboko at large to unite and speak with one voice in support of Governor Hyacinth Iormem Alia and President Bola Tinubu’s administrations to continue with their good works. 

Dr. Omale assured the new members of equal opportunities in the party, adding that the APC under Gov Alia's watch remains committed to inclusiveness and progress for all members. He announced that, today's ceremony was just first face of the process,  main decamping ceremony will be done at the local Government level very soon. 

The State Chairman encouraged both the new and old members to go out and mobile for the ongoing voters revalidation exercise. 

Elder Emmanuel Liamngee Ahundu who led the defectors, remarked that since the leadership of the opposition was not deliberate, coordinated, and focused on how to win the election and form a government, then, there was no justification for being in opposition especially now that Governor Alia is doing wonderfully well for the good people of Gboko and Benue.

Mr Ahundu added that, with the appointment of their son, Hon Andura by Governor Alia and other good gestures for Mbatan and Gboko, they have no other choice than to follow Gov Alia and his party to ensure that the Governor return victoriously come 2027.

Others who spoke at the event were, the State woman leader of the party, Hon. Mrs Helen Agaigbe, Dr. Mrs  Msoo Ugba, Elder Asaaka Gyee, Ward party Chairman, Hon. Chia Toryila among many others. 

Earlier, the Honouree, Hon. Andura who appreciated Governor Alia for finding him worthy to serve under his government also appreciated the people of Mbatan for the honour said Gov Alia must be encouraged with all support for him to continue with his great works he is doing, saying, the governor had achieved a lot within his just two years in office.

Speaking further, Hon. Andura appealed to Governor Alia to extend his hand of olive to the LGEA Primary school Ivese, Mbatan for the renovation, provision of healthy water supply, construction of major roads, health facilities in the area, appointment and employment of Mbatan people in government among many other requests.

While in the Church at NKST Church Time, Mbatan where the thanksgiving was held, both. Dr Omale and Commissioner Jir donated generously for the Church development. 

The Honourable Commissioner particularly on behalf of his family donated many bags of cement and huge amount of money to aide pastor, elders, leaders and members of the church for the reconstruction of the Church.

Earlier in the sermon the mark the event, Rev. Pastor Iorver encouraged Christians to emulate, Hon. Andura by always remembering to return to God with Thanksgiving.

Other Dignitaries at the event were, former Chairman of Gboko, Hon. Tavershima Agber, former Chairman of Gboko, Hon Tersoo Var, Special Advisor to the governor on politics, Hon. James Tor, former Chairman of Oju, Mrs. Ire as well as Mrs Mesuur Tswam, Dr and Dr. Mrs Kyernum Ngimibo, Commandant David Gwaza Iortyom, Zaki Williams Kpelaikyer among many others.
