AKPERAN ORSHI POLYTECHNIC MATRICULATES OVER 2,000 FRESH STUDENTS 
The Prestigious Akperan Orshi Polytechnic, Yandev, Gboko Benue State matriculated over 2,000 students today 3rd June, 2024 for the 2023/2024 Academic Session at the polytechnic's 25ft Matriculation.

Barr. Abigail Osase Siki of the ministry of justice, Makurdi administered the oaths of allegiance to the matriculating students.

Addressing the matriculating students, the Rector, Dr. S.I Iorchor urged them to embrace every opportunity to learn and develop their skills. He equally appreciated the Executive Governor of Benue State for his unwavering support and dedication to the progress of the Institution.

Dr. Iorchor who was represented by the deputy Rector administrations, Dr. Samuel Azua Dogo announced that, Akperan Orshi Polytechnic has recently been accredited to offer new courses, expanding the academic offerings and opportunities for students.

Speaking further, the Rector revealed that the institution continues to strive for excellence in every sector, Academically, his administration is dedicated to fostering a conducive learning environment, equipped with modern facilities. AS well as sought to produce graduates who are not only academically proficient but also equipped with the skills and competencies needed to thrive in the competitive global landscape.

In his guest speech title: INDECENT DRESSING AS A VICE IN HIGHER INSTITUTION AND ITS EFFECTS ON LEARNING " Mr. Jacob Orbura regretted that the Nigerian society is experiencing decline in morality because of moral laxity on dressing code which turned to be show of shameless generation, he charged parents to train and give orientation to their children in terms of what they become tomorrow.

On their part, the Acting Registrar, Mrs. Sende F.N, the JAMB coordinator, Mr. Titus Lemut, Deputy Rector academics, Dr. Daniel Oche among others advised the students to avoid all forms of social vices and immoral acts hence the institution has zero tolerance for ungodly acts.

Speaking to newsmen, the Deputy Registrar academic, Mrs Anooko Pim thanked God for the successful event, she commended parents and guardians for making Akperan Orshi polytechnic as their best choice.

Also speaking to our Correspondent after the Matriculation, the newly matriculated students, Mrs. Ben Surnen Faith and Miss. Comfort Msurshima Akaa all commended the school management for making it a successful ceremony, they also pledged to keep to the rules and regulations of the institution.

CHIEF OYEGUN OFFICIALLY JOINS ADC 16th July, 2025 A former national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), John Odigie-Oyegun, has officially joined the African Democratic Congress (ADC). Oyegun, a former Edo State Governor, received the membership card of his new party on Tuesday. His membership card was handed to him by the party’s state chairman, Kennedy Odion, after he registered with the ADC in Benin city, the Edo State capital.
